You can manually subscribe or unsubscribe a customer to any topic or channel directly from their profile in Maestra. This is useful when a customer asks a support agent to update their preferences, or when you need to fix a subscription state for a specific person.
If you need to update subscriptions for many customers at once, use a bulk subscribe/unsubscribe import instead of editing profiles one by one.

Update a customer’s subscriptions

Open the Customers section

Go to Customers in the main menu.

Find the customer

Search for the customer you want to subscribe or unsubscribe. Apply filters if you need to narrow down the list. Click the customer’s name to open their profile.

Switch to edit mode

Click Edit at the top of the profile.

Update the subscriptions block

Scroll to the subscriptions block and change the value in the fields you need. For example, you can subscribe the customer to promotions and unsubscribe them from the digest in the Email channel at the same time.Then click Save.

What happens after you save

  • The customer now has an explicit subscribe or unsubscribe state for each topic you changed.
  • The change is recorded in the customer’s history, so you can always see who edited the subscriptions and when.
Explicit consent matters for compliance with privacy laws like GDPR and the CCPA. Recording subscription changes in the customer’s history gives you an audit trail you can refer back to if a customer ever disputes how they were contacted.
