To find customers who were added to your database during a specific period of time, use the registration filter.
This filter looks at the action through which a customer first gained a contact or identifier: email, mobile phone, external ID, or loyalty card.
Actions where a customer only gains a device (such as a web push subscription or an app installation) do not count as registration.
A customer may have activity before registration — site visits, category page views, and product views. These get attached to the customer card once the customer is added to the project.
If you want to search by the date of the first interaction with a customer instead, use the dedicated guide for finding customers by their first action in a given period.
To get started, go to Data → Customers.
Below are several common tasks and how to solve them.
Single-brand projects
Task 1. Find customers who registered in the last month
Build a filter that selects customers whose registration action falls within the last month.
Task 2. Find customers who registered since the start of the year
Build a filter that selects customers whose registration action falls between the start of the current year and today.
Multi-brand projects
Task 1. Find customers who registered for the first time in the last month
Build a filter that selects customers whose first registration across any brand happened during the last month.
Task 2. Find customers who registered for the first time in the Test brand in the current calendar month
Use this when it does not matter whether the customer had earlier registrations in other brands — only that their first registration in the Test brand falls within the current calendar month.
Task 3. Find customers whose first overall registration was in the current calendar month, and that first registration was specifically in the Test brand
This is stricter than Task 2: the customer’s very first registration across the whole project must be in the current calendar month, and it must have happened in the Test brand.
How to filter registration actions
The logic is the same as for filtering customers, except you remove the Customer action element from the filter — you are already working on a list of actions.
Task. Find registration actions from the last week
Specify that you want registration actions, then limit them to the last week.
You can export actions using the standard export instructions.
