Average order value is the total value of purchases divided by the number of orders.
Use case: find customers with an average order value between 1,000and1,000 and 5,000 over the last year.
  1. Go to Customer Data Platform → Customers.
  1. Set up the filter.

How average order value is calculated

  • Average order value is calculated based on placed, paid, and delivered items.
  • Even if an order was fully canceled, it still counts toward the total number of orders.
Example: A customer has three orders:
  • Order 1: one table $1,500 — placed
  • Order 2:
    • line 1: two chairs $500 each — paid
    • line 2: one stool $300 — canceled
  • Order 3: one pouf $1,000 — returned
Total: 1,500+1,500 + 500×2 = 2,500Numberoforders:3Averageordervalue:2,500 **Number of orders:** 3 **Average order value:** 833
